Spring Tennis Clinics

May 5 thru June 20

Get a jump on the summer tennis season. Mike Gillespie will be conducting a 6-week after-school clinic with Candice Hutchinson and Vicki Muller. Each clinic will have a 4:1 student/pro ratio and will help your child with stroke production, footwork, net play, strategy and match play. Players will be grouped by age and ability. There will be make-up classes for rain days.

The clinics are offered on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4 - 6 p.m. E-mail Mike with the day and time that best fits your child's schedule, and he will arrange a group. The fee for six 1-hour clinics is $135 per player. Suitable white attire and sneakers are required.

Summer Junior Tennis Club

Monday, June 23 - Friday, August 8

Tennis Camp — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

• "Future Stars" (ages 4-7) — 2:15-3:00 ($70/week members, $80/week non-members)
• "Intermediates" — 3:00 - 4:00 ($90/week members, $100/week non-members)
• Discount available for committing to all seven weeks

Junior Team Clinic and Inter-club Play — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Junior Team clinic will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 - 5:15. The clinic consists of drilling, strategy sessions, and supervised challenge matches. These determine who will represent PRTC in the Interclub play. Interclub matches are held on Thursday afternoons at 1:00. The team roster consists of boys and girls in age categories of 17&U, 14&U, 12&U and 10&U. Mike Gillespie, Candice Hutchinson and Vicki Muller will instruct the Junior Team.

Fees are $300 for members and $400 for non-members. Fees are for one 7-week session and cannot be prorated.

• Team players will receive a PRTC team shirt. (Please indicate youth or adult size.)
• Parents are asked to drive to away matches on a rotating basis.
• Non-member team players can use the courts at other times but cannot bring guests, reserve court time or bump adult players

PRTC Camp Staff

Mike Gillespie will be returning for his 13th year. Mike is a PTR-Certified Level P1 pro and trained under Hank Irvine, former world-ranked Rhodesian Davis Cup player. He played #1 Singles and #1 Doubles for American University, captained the tennis team and was the ECAC Singles Champion.

Candice Hutchinson will be returning for her 12th year. Candice was State Champion while at Greenwich High School. She played #3 Singles and #1 Doubles for Fairfield University. She is also a 4-time MAAC Singles and Doubles Champion.

Vicki Muller will be returning for her 7th year. She is a PTR-Certified Level P1 pro who was trained in Johannesburg and a former 3rd-ranked junior in South Africa. Vicki was a two-time Namibian (formerly SW Africa) National Champion and represented South Africa versus Mozambique.
